I feel compelled to search for the wilderness in New York City, and photographing satisfies the urge to forage and bring pieces of the natural world with me. Eventually, with time, I paid closer attention to signs of people who, like me, have also escaped from the city to be a part of the landscape — some in a more off-the-grid fashion.
